The images depict a snake hanging from the gutter of a wOᴍᴀɴ’s home in Agnes Waters, Queensland, eating a parrot head first. The pictures were shot by the owner of the house and forwarded to Stuart McKenzie, a snake handler, who then uploaded them online.

Mr. McKenzie claims that carpet pythons, which may grow up to three meters in length, frequently prey on small animals and birds. They are opportunistic and will ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ any bird that lands too ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to them. According to him, the parrot was struck by the python because it had likely fallen too ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to it while it was basking and unwinding.

He knew they frequently broke into chicken coops to eat hens since he had seen instances when they had eaten small animals like guinea pigs. Small dogs and cats may occasionally be consumed by them.

He said that they would Bɪᴛᴇ and squeeze their prey to ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ before starting to swallow them. Although they weren’t the largest snake in the country, they were the largest and most common there on the Sunshine Coast, where he lived.

According to his calculations, the medium-sized carpet python in the pictures is between 1.5 and 2 meters long.

After eating the parrot, the snake would “rest” for a few days so that it could digest it. Carpet pythons can sting you terribly despite the fact that they are not ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs.
