• And here’s been a rumor going around that the Kardashians are most definitely not invited.
• A source said Kim was “very unhappy” about the situation.

Wondering how Kim Kardashian feels about reports that the Kardashians aren’t invited to the 2023 Met Gala? Not great! And apparently it’s caused some tension behind the scenes.

As a reminder, back in early March Page Six reported that the Kardashians wouldn’t make the guest list thanks to Anna Wintour “cracking down”—with one source saying “no Kardashians” will be invited. (It’s worth noting that another source disputed the first source’s claim, calling it “not true.”)

Either way, an anonymous insider is out here giving more details to The Sun and dishing on the BTS fall-out from Page Six’s report.

“Anna had wanted to do a cull of the guest list this year and make it more of an exclusive event,” the source says. “And while lots of names were discussed, attendees have always been an ongoing conversation and nothing was ever set in stone. Kim was never told she might not be on the list. While invites have now officially been sent out and Kim has been confirmed, the news leak about her possibly not getting an invite did see tensions run high behind the scenes in what has been a big misunderstanding.”

Per The Sun, things have been “strained” between Kim and the Met Gala team, while the source says Kim was “very unhappy” about the situation. The source added, “It’s been embarrassing for everyone involved but Kim is still excited and has already been working with a top fashion house to design a custom look for the night.”

As for the rest of the Kardashians, another insider told The Sun that they are also invited, though TBD on who’s showing up. Last season on The Kardashians, Khloé shut down previous rumors that she’d been “banned” from the event, saying, “I have been invited in the past. I just opted not to go. I’m not big on red carpets. I think I’ve made that very clear.”
