Johnny Depp Suffers Devastating Loss

After battling what seemed to be the most challenging phase of his life last year—and winning, this year, somehow hints that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” alum Johnny Depp would kick it off with pain.

On Tuesday, January 11, a very good friend of Depp—also his music collaborator, Jeff Beck, kicked the bucket after contracting bacterial meningitis. On Beck’s side in the hospital prior to and after his demise, was none other than Johnny Depp.

Reports stated that after Beck’s passing, the “Murder On The Orient Express” actor was shocked to the marrow.

Johnny Depp — On Johnny Depp Being Devastated

An insider close to the situation told “PEOPLE” that Depp is still “processing” the loss of his friend. According to the source, “They had a really tight friendship, they were extremely close, and he got even closer over this past summer when they were touring together.”

Speaking of the sickness that claimed the life of the English Guitarist Jeff Beck, 78, the source said, “The sickness came on really quickly and it all deteriorated rapidly in the last couple weeks.”

Johnny Depp "Devastated" Over The Loss Of His Friend And Music Collaborator Jeff Beck

Depp, 59, and the late Beck have been close friends for long. The two reunited their friendship during Depp’s defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard last year. Not long after Depp’s victory in his defamation trial, Depp and Beck collaborated and released an album titled “18” on July 15, 2022.

After the release of the official music video for “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr,” the first single from the album, Depp had some nice things to say about working alongside Beck in the making of the song.

Depp said, “It’s an extraordinary honor to play and write music with Jeff, one of the true greats and someone I am now privileged enough to call my brother.”

To prove how much Beck respects Depp’s effort in the song, Beck also said something good about Depp, “I haven’t had another creative partner like him for ages. He was a major force on this record. I just hope people will take him seriously as a musician because it’s a hard thing for some people to accept that Johnny Depp can sing rock and roll.”

Johnny Depp — Brief On Jeff Beck’s Musical Career

The English guitarist Jeff Beck whose real name is Geoffrey Arnold Beck was born on June 24, 1994. His music career came to light in the year 1960 but rose to great fame in the year 1965 after he replaced Eric Clapton in “The Yardbirds.”

Jeff Beck featured in many stars’ songs including being the lead guitarist in the debut album of Mick Jagger titled “She’s the Boss.” Prior to his demise, Beck played the title track of Ozzy Osbourne’s latest album titled “Patient Number 9.”

A day following the passing of Beck, his family issued a statement confirming the demise of Beck. The statement read, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s Passing.”

“After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family asks for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.”
