On social media, a video portraying a couple believed to be BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie enjoying a date in Paris, France, has gone viral, sparking numerous dating sightings and discussions.

The videos released on May 17 captivated many as it seemingly features V and Jennie taking a romantic stroll on the banks of the Seine River in Paris. The two appear to engage in warm, friendly conversation while holding hands. Those accompanying them in the videos are speculated to be their respective managers.

After the videos, a flurry of sightings and photos surfaced on social media. One image in particular circulated on Twitter, capturing a couple resembling V and Jennie. They seemed to be sharing an intimate moment by a hotel window, with gestures ranging from gentle hair brushing to a tender cheek kiss. Twitter became a hotbed of conjecture, with some users speculating that the cozy scene was evidence of V and Jennie enjoying a private date in their hotel room.

However, it has been confirmed that the photo was actually extracted from a video featuring a Chinese couple posted on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) back in March.

The original video captured a Chinese couple displaying intimate behavior with open windows in a hotel in China. The couple’s hairstyle and silhouette bear a resemblance to V and Jennie, leading to the misidentification.

Meanwhile, the agencies representing V and Jennie have not provided specific statements addressing the alleged Paris date sightings. Big Hit Music (HYBE) and YG Entertainment responded ambiguously to the dating rumor, merely stating, “It is difficult to confirm.”

V and Jennie have been persistently embroiled in dating rumors since last year. V departed for Paris on May 15 to participate in a fashion photoshoot, while Jennie is known to be in France attending the 76th Cannes International Film Festival.
