We are pretty much always living for Adele’s home truths, and our gal has delivered once again – opening up about what she said to achieve silence before Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance. Fans became obsessed with what Adele had said to calm everybody down before the show began, with many a lip reading expert wading in to try and work it out.

During a recent performance at her Weekends with Adele Las Vegas residency, the singer explained exactly what she did to quieten everybody down before RiRi took the stage. “I was saying, ‘She’s gonna be fine. She’s gonna have some weed and be fine’,” she said. “But clearly she couldn’t have any weed because she was pregnant!”

Swearing her undying allegiance to Rihanna, Adele also made it perfectly clear during her residency show that she was at the Super Bowl for Rihanna’s performance, and Rihanna’s performance only. Absolutely fair enough.

“I’m going just for Rihanna, I don’t give a flying f**k,” she told the crowd.

Hitting up one of Adele’s residency shows is on many of our bucket lists, not just for the tunes but for these kinds of revelations and personal insights.

After explaining her Super Bowl behaviour, the singer also joked about the “hard work [of] being a constant meme” and the fact that she seems to go viral every time she walks outside her house. What a life!

She also went on to speculate that the reason she thinks she gets “meme’d” by fans so much is because her “face just moves so much” because she doesn’t have Botox. What a theory.

Adele’s reactions at the Grammy Awards also generated an entire category of memes unto themselves – maybe she should have her own meme keyboard, so we can select an Adele facial reaction for all of our moods.
